Bacon Buttermilk Waffles with Whipped Nutella


  1. 1 package Smithfield® Bacon Bits


  1. 3 cups all-purpose flour
  2. 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  3. 1 tsp., baking soda
  4. 1 tsp., salt
  5. 1/3 cup brown sugar
  6. 4 eggs
  7. 2/3 cup melted butter
  8. 2 1/2 cups buttermilk
  9. 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  10. Powdered sugar, for garnish
  11. Syrup, optional


Whipped Nutella:

  1. 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  2. 1 cup Nutella, softened to room temperature


  1. Waffles:
  2. Preheat waffle iron.
  3. In large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and brown sugar. Whisk to combine.
  4. In separate bowl, whisk together eggs, melted butter, buttermilk and vanilla.
  5. Add wet ingredients to dry and stir to just combine.
  6. Add chopped bacon and mix slightly without overworking.
  7. Cook waffles according to your waffle cooker and serve with whipped Nutella and powdered sugar.
  8. Whipped Nutella:
  9. With electric mixer, or by hand, whisk heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  10. Add Nutella and whip for an additional minute or until well combined and smooth.
